GOLIJA (Jankov kamen 1833 m)
Golija, a mountain beauty, is located 250 km from Belgrade. To reach it, you must drive by the Ibar highway and turn to Ivanjica, near Pozega. At the town of Ivanjica, follow the signpost to Golija. You can not miss it. The road leads to the place called Golijska reka (river), which is the starting point for the ascent to the highest peak, Jankov kamen (Janko’s stone).
The route to the top runs parallel with the ski slope. There are markings on a pole, just follow them. After 45 minutes of hike, you will come to a macadam road, which leads to Jankov kamen. At the top is a transmitter and a stone, which says that you are at 1833 meters a.s.l.
When you come down from the top and, before a ski trail, go to the left, and you will make an interesting circular walking tour, about 3 hours long. The tour leads across the neighboring peak Prekobrdo (1578 m), where marked trail starts. The trail mostly goes through the forest.
Prekobrdo
Final destination is Golijska reka. There is a mountain lodge, where you can refresh yourself.
On your way back to Ivanjica, I recommend a visit to the monastery of Kovilje. If you want to visit this monastery, you must drive for 20 km, in the direction which is not so close to Ivanjica. But, it is worth of try; monastery is unique. Last 5 km, you must drive by the gravel road. Monastery is very interesting, because the altar is in the rock. It is also famous for father Amvrosije, who tamed a wolf!
