GLEDIC MOUNTAINS (Dulenski Crni vrh 897 m)

Dulenski Crni vrh (Dulens Black peak) belongs to the massif of Gledic mountains . Dulenski Crni vrh (897 m) is located in the forest and it is not exposed at all. But the path to the peak is quite interesting, with beautiful views.

The beginning of the trail is in the village of Adzine livade, at the mountain lodge “Dr. Sonja Perisic ”. Adzine livade is 17 km away from Kragujevac. From Belgrade, Kragujevac can be reached via Mladenovac and Topola. In Kragujevac, follow the signpost for Cacak and Kraljevo. When you see a brown sign with the inscription „Храм великомученика Димитрија, Бајчетина“, turn in the direction in which the sign points (left). Drive by the main road and do not turn anywhere for next 20 minutes and you will reach the mountain lodge. Distance between Belgrade and Adzine livade is 130 km (2 hours by car). In front of the lodge is a monument dedicated to the heroes of the First World War.

The trail is marked very well and it is not difficult to follow it. The biggest problem is to find the beginning of the track. From the lodge, walk by the asphalt road, for some 700-800 meters. At this point, turn left onto a gravel road. This is the beginning of the marked trail, which leads you to Dulenski Crni vrh and then to Bajcetina, and back again to Adzine livade.

The trail is circular, about 20 km long and you can pass it in 6 hours. The height difference is about 400 m. At the beginning of the trail, you can clearly see the hill Zezelj and the mountain Besnjaja.

A stronger ascent starts from the river, by the macadam road. You are now sheltered by trees, but humidity makes climbing much more difficult. When you get out of the canyon of the river Grosnica, the path is flat and pleasant for hiking, until the foothill of the peak, where ascent starts again.

After 4 hours of hiking (12 km), you will reach Dulenski Crni vrh (897 m). The top is in the forest, so there are no beautiful views.

At the top, there are various signposts, as well as a board with the inscription “Dulene”. Dulene is a village to which Dulenski Crni vrh belongs.

To get down to the village of Bajcetina, follow the path behind you, opposite of the “Dulene” sign. The trail leads slightly to the right and down. There are markings on that road. In less than an hour (3 km) you will come at Bajcetina, on an asphalt road. On the way to the village, the church of St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki can be seen in the far distance. This church was built by the former president of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic.

When you come to the asphalt, go right. In 10 minutes, you will reach the main asphalt road. The right road leads you to Adzine livade (4 km to the lodge), and the left road to the church of Sv. Demetrius (800 m). The church is very beautiful, with frescoes made in mosaic. A part of the relics of Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki is kept in the church!

If you decide to see the church, then you will make about 22-23 km of hike, in total. At this colorful trail, you will find something for everyone: forest, meadows, river… All of that in beautiful Gledic mountains.
