GILJEVA (Jelenak 1617 m)

Mountain Giljeva is located in the vicinity of Sjenica, above the Pester field. Road to Sjenica leads via Pozega and Ivanjica. Distance between Belgrade and Sjenica is about 220 km. At Sjenica, follow the signs for the village Trijebine. The road passes near the Sultan Valide mosque. When you drive to Trijebine, the mosque is on your right side.

When you pass Trijebine, after about 10 km, you will come to a place called Prijevorac (1400 m), between the mountains Giljeva and Ozren. Giljeva is on the left and Ozren is on the right side. Signboard “Prijevorac” is not the path for Jelenak (1617 m).

Beginning of the path

From this place, it takes about an hour of walk to the top. After some 100-150 meters, you will reach the intersection. Right path leads to Jelenak:

Like most of the trails at Pester highland, this one is also unmarked. But, it is not difficult to reach the top. Below Jelenak is a meadow, you will see the highest spot, you can not miss. From the top you will see the plateau of Pester and many mountains of Montenegro, which I failed to recognize.

This is another tour ideal for beginners. You can easily fit it with Uvac canyon, all in just one day!
