JASTREBAC (Bela stena 1256 m, Sokolov kamen 1025 m)
Jastrebac is Serbian most wooded mountain. Everywhere you look, you will see a green colour.
The starting point of this tour is hotel “Sator” (Tent), at Jastrebac mountain. Near the hotel is a small lake. Distance between Belgrade and hotel “Sator” is exactly 210 km, or 3 hours of drive. From the highway Belgrade-Nis, exit at Pojate and continue in the direction of Krusevac. In the town of Krusevac, follow the brown board with the inscription “Jastrebac”. Then follow the brown board with the inscription “Monastery Naupara” (opposite direction of the “Ribarska Banja” board). Jastrebac lies 20 km from Krusevac. The road leads through the villages of Malo and Veliko Golovode, Lomnica and Buci. Mountain trail is circular, with a height difference of 800 m. It is 16 km long and well marked. The beginning of the track is just below the hotel “Sator” (450 a.s.l.).
The trail leads through the woods all the time. In the beginning, it goes by a wide macadam road and then enters on the forest path. At some parts of the trail, you will spot beautiful and interesting viewpoints.
After 3.5 hours, you will reach the top of Bela stena (1256 m). From the top, you can clearly see the wooded Jastrebac and its wavy hills.
It takes an hour to the next top, Sokolov kamen (1025 m). Sokolov kamen (Falcons stone) also provides a beautiful view.
From the top of Sokolov kamen, follow the signpost “Planinarski dom” (Mountain hut) and, in less than an hour and a half, you will reach the mountain hut ”Zarko Zaric” (581 a.s.l.). From the hut, you must walk 1 km downhill, by the macadam road and you will come to the starting point of your ascent, at hotel “Sator”.
You can also climb the White rock and Falcons stone from the mountain hut. But, the ascent is much steeper. Just follow this signpost:
These two peaks are just a small part of the beauty of the wooded Jastrebac. Jastrebac has a lot to offer, but it takes frequent visits with a few days of hiking. If you love forest, do not hesitate to come!
