VUKAN (Veliki Vukan 825 m)

Vukan is a part of Homolje mountains and represents the most visited mountain, in this part of Serbia. You can reach Vukan by Belgrade-Nis highway, when you turn toward Svilajnac. From Svilajnac, via Petrovac, drive to the village of Zdrelo. Distance between Belgrade and Zdrelo is about 150 km. In Zdrelo, there is a modern spa center. You should visit it, after you climb Vukan. Thermal water is 40 ºC.

From Zdrelo, turn left toward the monastery of Holy Trinity, where the trail begins. The trail is well marked and height difference is about 625 m.

The path leads through the forest, mostly.

After 3 hours, we are at the top of Veliki (Great) Vukan (825 m). What a view, at whole Homolje area!

From Veliki Vukan, path leads to Mali (Little) Vukan (752 m).

• 

Finally, when we climbed down from Vukan, tired and happy, we relaxed in the thermal spa center.
