OZREN (Leskovik 1174 m)
Leskovik is the highest peak of mountain Ozren, which is located above the town of Soko Banja. The trail starts from the village of Lipovac, ie, from the monastery of St. Stephen. Lipovac is located 23 km from the town of Aleksinac. Distance between Belgrade and Aleksinac is about 210 km. You must drive by the Belgrade-Nis highway, to Aleksinac. Exit the highway near Aleksinac and follow the signs towards Lipovac and children’s summer camp.
The path starts from the monastery of St. Stephen.
Beginning of the trail
The path is marked very well and mostly leads through the woods. Markings are visible at every 20 meters. If you lost them, go back to the last marking and you will find the right path. At the start of the trail, go right, not to the church of St. John. The path to the church is attractive, but also longer. It leads below the foothill of Ozren and to its ridge.
Shortly after the start, you will come to a beautiful viewpoint.
The trail leads you onto a meadow. On the left side of the meadow are trees, with visible markings. After you pass the meadow, you will see a ruined house.
After 2 hours of hiking, you are at Leskovik (1174 m), the highest peak of Ozren.
Leskovik
On your way back, if you want to see the church of St. John the Baptist, follow the yellow marks. Church belongs to the village of Crna Bara.
Church of St. John the Baptist
The path, from the church, will lead you below the foothill of Ozren, providing an impressive view at this majestic mountain.
Ozren
This trail leads to the ridge of Ozren and then toward Leskovik. I did not go by this path, so I have a good reason to visit this beautiful mountain again .
