THASSOS (Ipsarion 1204 m)

Climb to Ipsarion (1204 m) starts from the village of Potamia. You must drive, by the main road, to Skala Potamia. After Skala Potamia, turn left, for Potamia. You can park your car at the beginning of the trail. The village is small, so it is not a problem to find a path.

The trail is partially marked. At some places, you will see a pile of small stones, instead of markings. Just follow the gravel road. On key points are signposts, to the top, or some other type of markings. Everything is marked well; you will not go astray.

After 2.5 hours of hike, you will come to the mountain lodge. From this place is a nice view at Aegean sea.

Another half an hour, and you are on the top. Maybe because of the deep blue sea, but this peak seems to be higher than it is, from this place. I have the same feeling with all the peaks which rises above the sea.
