PANJICA CANYON

River Panjica canyon is very nice and interesting. This canyon owns a stunning waterfall, beautiful cascades and, so called, Water cave. The canyon is located between the villages Dobrace and Brekovo.

Road to Panjica leads from Belgrade via Arilje and then by the highway toward Ivanjica. After Arilje, pass the turn for the monastery Klisura and continue forward. After less than a kilometer, turn right toward the village Dobrace, there is a signpost. The distance between Belgrade and Arilje is 195 km. Distance between Arilje and Dobrace is about 15 km. When you turn to Dobrace, you will come to a crossroad. Left road goes to the village of Brekovo, right one, over the yellow bridge, leads to Dobrace.

You can park your car near this monument.

The gravel road to the left takes you to the village of Dobrace. You will walk for about 1 km. You will come to the table with the inscription “Vodena pećina“ (“Water Cave”). Marked trail starts from here. If you go by the canyon for 5 km, you will reach the village of Brekovo.

At this junction, go left.

The trail leads by the river and it is impossible to get lost. After 3 km from the start (about 1 hour of walk) and crossing four wooden bridges, you will arrive to the very interesting waterfall.

If you go right, some 100 meters above the waterfall you will see an amazing sight!

On the right bank of these cascades, about 200 meters from the waterfall, is a Water cave. You will hear the roar of the water that emerges from the cave, so you will easily find it, even though you can not see it because of the trees and bushes.

Awesome! I have never seen such a powerful spring! You can enter only 50 meters in the cave, keep in mind that it is unexplored!

This is paradise! Beautiful, soothing, refreshing! A cure for the soul! Although my favorite canyon is Gradac (maybe because my origins are from Valjevo, so I am subjective), Panjica fight a close battle for the first place on the list of my favorite canyons.
