JUHOR (Veliki Vetren 775 m)
Mountain Juhor, with the highest peak Veliki Vetren, is located about 162 km from Belgrade. It can be reached by highway Belgrade-Nis. The trail starts at the village Svojnovo, which is located 14 km from the town of Paracin. The top can be reached after 2 hours of walk. In the village, there is a signpost which points left, to the monastery of St. Nicholas. You must go right, if you wanna go to the top.
The trail is marked very well. It leads next to the cemetary, where you will follow the path on the right. You’ll know you’re on the right track if you pass this house:
At the beginning of the gravel road, you will see Juhor.
At the first junction, turn left and you will see markings.
Soon, you will spot the slopes of Juhor. You will pass a poultry farm.
Small streams are cutting the path and, behind your back, you can see Velika Morava river.
When you get to this junction, the quickest way to the top is the middle one. The left road leads to the peak of Mali Vetren. From Mali Vetren, you can go to the Veliki Vetren, following the path called Minina kosa (Minas slope).
On the saddle, trail enters the forest and leads to the top, which is also in the forest. If you follow the markings, after 15 minutes you will be at the top.
Below the top, you will see the remains of an old Celtic town.
This is a light hiking tour, very relaxing, for body and soul. At the end, enjoy in more pictures from Juhor:
