JABLANIK (1274 m)

Hiking trail, to the top of Jablanik, starts from the monastery of Pustinja, which is located near the town of Valjevo. Monastery can be reached via village of Pocuta, which is 130 km away from Belgrade. From Valjevo, follow the signs to Bajina Basta. Road goes through the area of Debelo Brdo.

The trail starts from the rear gate of the monastery and leads down, to a spring at river Jablanica.

Trail will lead you to Bebica Luka, the village with the oldest houses in Serbia.

It takes 2-2.5 hours to the top. Path will lead you through very interesting landscapes.

Believe it or not, at this place, the first championship in slalom, in former Yugoslavia, was held:

A view from the top is very nice. You can clearly see neighboring mountain Medvednik (1244 m).

From the top of Jablanik, you can reach the top of Medvednik. But, you will need about an hour and a half of forced hike. This trail is marked well. If you are physically fit, I think you should try to conquer Medvednik!
