VUJAN (Veliki Vujan 856 m)

Mountain Vujan is located 115 km from Belgrade and it can be reached by Ibar highway. The highest peak is called Veliki (Great) Vujan (856 m).

After Gornji Milanovac (5 km), turn left toward the monastery of Vujan. There is a signpost. The monastery is known for being kept a carved cross that was made by novice Gojko, future Serbian Patriarch Paul.

Marked path starts behind the monastery.

Path goes through the woods, all the way. Forest is not so dense, it is a little creepy, if you walk alone. There is no lookout, on the way to the top.

After an hour, you will reach the highest peak. A pyramid stands on the top of Vujan.

You can return by the same path.

Vujan is good for beginners. After a steep rise, a mild ascent comes, but that is a good fitness test, for those who are just starting to hike.
